Welcome to Recipea! Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Recipea app or website in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch privacy laws.

Why we collect data

We collect data to run and improve Recipea: to provide the service, personalize your experience, keep you updated, and understand performance and usage. We only collect data that serves a clear purpose:

• Account data — to create and manage your account, let you log in, and allow you to use Recipea across devices
• App content — to save your cookbooks, recipes and shopping lists and make them available to you whenever you need them
• Subscription data — to know which plan you're on, give you access to the right features, and process your payments correctly
• Analytics — to understand how people use Recipea so we can fix issues and improve the app over time. This data is fully anonymous and cannot be linked back to you

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data, share it for marketing purposes, or use it to build profiles about you beyond what's needed to run Recipea.

Data Security

Your data is stored in secure cloud environments and protected with encryption — both in transit and when it's stored. We work in line with Article 32 AVG and review our security practices regularly to keep your data secure.

How long we keep it

We store your personal data for as long as required for the purposes mentioned above and to comply with the governing Dutch legal and tax regulations. When you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days in line with the Dutch GDPR ****Art. 5(1e) and the AVG, Art. 17.

You’re always in control of your personal data

You’re always in control of your personal data. Under the GDPR, you can ask us to access your personal data, correct data that’s incorrect, delete your data, or limit how it’s used. You can also request a copy of your data, object to certain types of processing, or withdraw your consent (when consent is the reason we process something).
